Agglomerates are the hidden companions of our day-to-day life. Every day we use a multitude of products from different branches of industry that are produced with the help of agglomeration technology. The main objective of the agglomeration is to make fine grained materials into agglomerates or pellets. The products produced exhibit considerably improved properties for transport, processing and use.

For example, in the fertilizer industry is estimated the improvement of trickle and scattering properties as well as the guarantee of dust free. The improvement of permeability by generating narrow particle size distributions is a target of the agglomeration of iron ores and recycled materials.

In our test facility are various tests equipment for agglomeration available. This allows us to investigate different materials at laboratory and pilot scale. We focus here on the agglomeration process in the pelletizing disc, which combines with his particular material bed agglomerating, crushing and classifying mechanisms. Due to these parallel running mechanisms a product, having a very narrow particle size distribution and a high degree of uniformity, can be achieved.

Essential for the proper selection process is a detailed analysis of the starting material. This results in the requirements for the selection of suitable binders, additives and machinery.
